The United Nations made a declaration to specifically protect the rights of indigenous people and their cultures. The declaration ensures the protection of a culture and the traditions of that culture. The UNDIPR addresses both individual and collective rights. Without this declaration different cultures around the world would die off and leave the people of that culture with no evident background to fall back upon.
Strip mining is a type of surface mining that involves removing all surface debris that is not needed for the mining process. This means that any trees, boulders, bushes or anything else that is on top of a strip mining location will be removed to get to the desired material or substance that is being mined. Explosives may be used to clear out unwanted material surrounding.  Any type of filth is removed from the mining site and relocated somewhere on the outskirts of the mine. When it rains all the filth and chemicals used to make the mine run into waterways and fertile land.
