Nike Coming Clean About SweatShops...

Did you already know a lot of what was in this article?
Yes I knew most of it I knew Nike had sweatshops and they
Have kids that work for them for very very cheap. I also knew that
It not right for that to happen but I can’t make a change to it so it’s not my problem.
Was there anything in this article that made you happy?
Not exactly because why would I be happy to hear about how my shoes are made by little kids it don’t really bother me! What do you think of Nike?
I think Nike is amazing and I love their clothes and shoes.
Do you have / have you ever bought… any Nike products?
Yes I have bought Nike products and I still will they are one of the only kinds of shoes I wear!
What do you think of the “Just do it” slogan?
I
like the slogan because it’s kind of like a motivation say you want to do something Nike is saying don’t say it just do it kind of
thing!
What do you know about sweatshops?
I know that most sweatshops have over worked workers, little kids working, don’t get paid much at all and the boss is pretty much the one who says you can or cant do something like no you cant go to the bathroom!
What are working conditions like in your country?
Depending on where you work Good here we get paid minimum wage up to 45dollars an hour and more. If we want water or a bathroom break we can take it. We have lunch breaks and days off plus usually only 7 hour working shifts!
Do you know of any companies that provide bad working conditions?
No I don’t but I also don’t know about much of working around where I live I know that we don’t have sweatshops!
Why do you think Nike is suddenly coming clean?
I think Nike is coming clean because their dumb little fan club of haters keep talking crap and making them sound worse than they really are so they just gave the truth and it was bad but not as bad as people make it sound!
Many sports companies advertise healthy living but the lives of workers who make their products are not healthy. Do you think about this when buying sportswear?
I don’t care how or who made my clothes that are on me and if a poor little child made them that has been working for 30 hours straight with no food im sorry but I cant do nothing about it and im not going to stop buying the clothes and shoes.
Who is more important today, the shareholder or the worker?
I would say they are both important because with no worker there would be nothing being made. And with no share holder there would be no money which means there would be no worker and that means no company.
W
ould (do) you wo
rk more than sixty hours a week?
No I do not but I would depending on the job and the pay!
What would you do if your boss said you couldn’t drink anything?
Id try and work with nothing to drink and if I couldn’t then id say screw him and get a drink and if I got fired then I got fired.
What do you think of working for less than the legal minimum wage?
I wouldn’t work for less than minimum wage that is less than 10 dollars an hour and that is way to cheap. Especially for Nike because they pay maybe 10 dollars a pair of shoes they make then sell them over seas from 30 through 100 dollars. That’s a lot of profit for each pair of shoes. Should Tiger Woods and other sports stars help Nike workers?
There is really nothing we can do besides stop buying Nike products which I don’t think we can get everyone in the world or even half the people in the world to stop buying the products.
