People often ask me why I would want to study forensic pathology. My usual answer is that "People arent just going to stop dying." they often react with disgust and assume somthing just went wrong with my childhood. in fact it was somthing I have been fascinated with since I was a child yet, not in such specific terms. I have always had a curiosity with human anatomy and physiology since I can remember. It started with my father taking me out hunting, the first season we baged a mule deer. my father showed me how to gut the animal and then proceded to explaining all the internal organs and there functions. It was pretty gory, yet I wanted to know more. as a young child I would look at the medical text books my father provided me and re draw the pictures that looked interesting.
later on in life before my 13th birthday my father died and there were issues surounding his death that were never divulged to me. my mother never alowed me to view the autopsy report or the death certificate. she only told me that he died of a heart attack. although I was the one who found the body they would not let me understand the details. It has always bothered me and since then I have had an even greater drive to understand the human body and the diseases that bring them to a halt.
when I have time to myself I study and take notes on books about epidemology, diseases, and natural medicine, human anatomy, as well as phisiology, in a hope to better come to understand my feild of study and possibly make a firm career of it. Now all I have to do is select a collage that offers pre med or possibly medical bio-ethisism. I feel like I finaly have a clear vision of my career and I now just have to find a way to make it happen.
