This Weeks band of the Week is a short and quick one, becuase I have been really busy..............

 THE FOUR TOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Four Tops, I know its a jump from the other genres but I love the Motown/Soul bands of the 50s-60s. Anyway this "Group" more than band, started in 1954 with a couple of high school students who sang for birhtday parties. The quartet decided to remain together and the called themselves The Four Tops, without any hit records to their name, The Tops toured frequently, developing a polished stage presence and an experienced supper club act.

During there early Motown years they recorded songs to please the listeners with the writing came there first single "Baby I need your loving", with Levi Stubbs as the main vocals and the other three backing him up. The first follow-up single, "Without the One You Love (Life's Not Worth While)"

After Scoring Number 1 with "Baby I Need Your Loving" the band went through a song writing strom pushing out singles every minute. This band and The Temptations were the top of the time, There is not much to explain about them thats why I chose them for this short blog. 

I love these bands all the songs are written from there heart and they sing with there soul. In 2008 the lead singer of The Four Tops, Levi Stubbs died of a stroke. He will always be remembered as one of the best singers of all time.
